Help, Hope, and Healing in the Storms of Despair

On Daily Faith, our guest today is from the greater New Orleans area, Pastor Dennis Watson. He is the Senior Pastor of Celebration Church in Metairie, LA, with eight campus locations in the United States and other Nations. He is here to talk about weathering the storms of life. His church has seen and endured its fair share of storms and despair over the last decade, but one thing remains true, and that is Jesus Christ, their solid rock. With hurricane Katrina, they lost over 60% of their congregations and were down to serving two church campuses, but they remained faithful to the Lord and dedicated to their communities. The body of Christ rallied together across the area in response to these devastating storms, and Celebration Church has increased in campus locations! God has genuinely kept His promises, never to leave them, nor forsake them in times of trouble, and has provided for their needs. Pastor Dennis wants you to know that storms are a part of life; however, what matters is how we respond to them before, during, and after. When we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith, He will be faithful to see us through whatever circumstance comes our way. Today, we want to encourage your heart to hope in the Lord, always relying upon His hand of mercy and grace to see you through. Together we can provide help, hope, and healing to those in need. The Orphans Hand ministry is the heart and soul of our mission work in Moldova. We have helped save and rescue unwanted and abandoned children from the risks of growing up in poverty and despair. Since Moldova has one of the highest death rates leading to alcoholism, they often break up the homes, forcing them to grow up in an orphanage. In the orphanage, they are told that no one loves them and will never be anything in life. When they become of age, they are kicked out onto the streets with a bus ticket back to where they came. This tragedy leaves them subject to the risks and false hope of the traffickers. We have stepped in to provide a clean and warm place for them to grow up, giving them a sense of ownership. We have a village of homes called Varta Village and a house in Ukraine. It’s in our homes where they are learning the ways of the Lord and how God has been faithful to provide for them in their deepest darkest storms of life. God has helped them leave the pains of the past and grow in the future He has for them. Your prayers and support have helped our kids grow hope and healing. Thank you!
