When Apathy and Passivity Collide

In these tumultuous times, where the world is at war socially, economically, and politically, one thing that remains unshakable is the Word of God. Pastor Scott Ethridge, the Lead Pastor of The Healing Place in Shreveport, LA, offers a word of encouragement on Daily Faith, highlighting the current state of the American church. Pastor Scott shares how his church embarked on a 21-day corporate fast, with the first week focusing on personal breakthroughs, as outlined in the book of Micah 2. However, many people have become passive and apathetic to their surroundings. Fear sets in when apathy and passivity are challenged, which can make us retreat from God’s voice and plan. As this passivity has infiltrated the church, it’s caused many to miss out on what God is doing around them.

To achieve breakthroughs in the face of storms, we must stand on faith, speak the word of God in Jesus’ name, and use the power and authority He has given us. Practical steps can become supernatural when done in the name of Jesus. Taking the first step, even in the midst of the shaking, requires courage and obedience to God’s voice. When we take a leap of faith, God will back us up every step of the way, leading us to our miracle.

The Orphans Hands ministry is fueled by faith, aiming to combat passivity and apathy in impoverished communities of Moldova and Ukraine. These regions often witness families unable to care for their children, resorting to orphanages. Unfortunately, these young ones endure abandonment and neglect, lacking prospects for a brighter future. As they age out of the system, they become vulnerable to human trafficking. However, The Orphans Hands ministry intervenes, offering these kids healing through prayer and intercession.

Through their village of homes in Moldova and our house in Ukraine, they create a nurturing environment for growth and education. Equipped with spiritual weapons, the children learn to overcome the enemy’s schemes and draw closer to their heavenly Father. Their kids have learned that during every storm they face, nothing is impossible with God. Their kids are meeting the needs of the many refugees, sharing the love of Jesus on the frontlines of war through their Constant Care ministry. Generous support from donors like you enables us to provide ongoing support and care.
