Living the Great Commission with a Heart for Missions

On Daily Faith, Pastor Mike Franklin, lead pastor of The Torch in Demorest, GA, joins us to share his heart for missions and his passion for reaching out to the lost and broken souls and spreading God’s love. In a world filled with turmoil, hoarding our resources and keeping to ourselves can be tempting. However, the Kingdom of God calls us to live differently, to break the orphan spirit within by giving generously. When we give from the abundance of our hearts, the Lord fills us to overflowing. On Daily Faith, Pastor Mike Franklin, lead pastor of The Torch in Demorest, GA, joins us to share his heart for missions and his passion for reaching out to the lost and broken souls and spreading God’s love.

As members of the body of Christ, we are called to be witnesses of God’s great love in our lives through the Great Commission. When we get involved in missions and experience the glory of the Lord, it is impossible not to fall in love. A mission trip can open our eyes to the needs of the Gospel around the world, and once we see that, we are forever changed. We are here for such a time as this, as the world is desperate for the Gospel. If we don’t step in to help, who will? We must use every resource God has given us to manage the Kingdom of God well.

The Orphans Hands ministry has been on the mission field for over 30 years to fulfill the Great Commission by rescuing and caring for abandoned children in Moldova and Ukraine. Our work is grounded in the love of Christ, offering a new path filled with hope to children who face abandonment and the risks of human trafficking once removed from the orphanages.

In our homes at Vatra Village, the children come together to experience the Gospel message and see God’s love transform their lives, taking their first steps toward realizing their purpose in God’s Kingdom. By being the church and extending God’s hands, our kids are determined to make a difference despite the challenges posed by the ongoing war in Ukraine. They are taking on new ways to help reach as many war refugees as possible by supplying food, clothing, and the love of Jesus. Orphans turned into missionaries for the kingdom of God.

To fulfill our mission of the Great Commission, we need your help to purchase a house in Odessa. With the war in Ukraine worsening and the threats of war in Moldova, we ask that you take a leap of faith to support those in need and experience the blessings of the Kingdom of God. Let’s work together to bring the love and hope of Christ to those who need it most.
