A Legacy of Obedience

On Daily Faith, the Founding Pastor of Revolution Church, Josh Cardwell, is joining us today from Crossville, TN. His story may sound familiar to most, he grew up going to church in the inner city, saved at age 6, but as he grew up, he wandered away. Later, he met his wife at eighteen and restored his life to the Lord after seeing her love and devotion to Jesus. Soon after, the Lord called him to minister; once a big city man, now a small town preacher. Pastor Josh started Revolution Church almost ten years ago in obedience to the call of God for his life. His legacy of obedience and transparency with his church has changed how they see their community, sharing the love of Jesus and passionately going after the unchurched people in their community. Like any new church, they faced issues of comparison and struggled with man’s scoreboards on how to build a church. But, through an inward change of heart, and outward expression of love, Revolution Church is growing amid challenging times. Pastor Josh has learned that it’s not about how effective you respond to God but how obedient you are to His voice the first time. Stop keeping track of your scoreboard and look at God’s scoreboard. Leaving a legacy of obedience for others to follow is the greatest honor.

In Moldova, many families live in poverty, endure pain, and suffer from depression and disease. Alcohol abuse breaks up the home, and another day’s torment leaves them hopeless. These families send their babies to live in an orphanage, where they are shown anything except love. Once they turn sixteen, they graduate from the orphanage, forcing them onto the streets. They’re subject to the real risks of human trafficking, never to be seen again. For those who don’t know, we have a village of homes in Moldova called Vatra Village and a former home in Odessa, Ukraine. Our homes provide and care for these once lifeless and discouraged kids. The Orphans Hands is leaving a legacy of obedience for our kids to walk in. Their transparency of heart radiates the love of Jesus as they care for those needs they once knew. Our kids understand extreme heartache and pain, yet they also have found comfort in the arms of Jesus. Our convoys supply food, Bibles, and blankets, and our kids have made it their mission through our convoys to help, love, and support the Ukrainian refugees. Through a heart of obedience to the call, they have discovered the true meaning of the church. The light of Jesus is a glimmer of hope on the darkest days.
