Encounters On The Listening Road

On Daily Faith, joining us to share a few crazy encounters and stories about the love of Jesus is Pastor Neil Tomba. He is the Senior Pastor of Northwest Bible Church in Dallas, TX. Over eighteen years ago, Pastor Neil went on a bike ride and met a couple of people along the way who shared a few stories with him. This sparked a crazy idea in his heart for the ministry on his way home. Today, Pastor Neil shares how this bigger-than-life adventure became a reality. He recently set out on a nationwide tour of America and encountered many of those lost, hurting, happy, and longing to be heard. Pastor Neil has authored a book entitled The Listening Road: One Man’s Ride Across America To Start Conversations About God from this journey. As he set out on this grand adventure in hopes of helping someone else’s life, his life was ultimately enriched by their stories. The Christian life is not about preaching or arguing theology; it’s simply about listening, coming together in community, sharing, and supporting one another through the love of Jesus. After all, Jesus is the best example of love there will ever be, and what better way to share His love than to listen; it’s amazing what you will hear. The Orphans Hands is the heart of our outreach ministry in Moldova and Ukraine. We have been rescuing orphaned children from rejection and abandonment for over thirty years. Due to the harsh living conditions and lack of support, many helpless children grow up in an orphanage, fearing they will never know the love of a family. When they come of age, they are forced out of the orphanages, back into a helpless lifestyle. This peril brings about the desperation that often leads to the risks of human trafficking. We have a village of homes in Moldova called Vatra Village, and before the war on Ukraine, we had a home in Odessa. We provide for them and encourage them to discover who they are created to be in Christ upon coming into our homes. No longer orphans; they are sons and daughters missionaries for the Kingdom of God! Their faith has been put to action amid the war. They are meeting the needs of the people by supplying food, warm blankets, and a listening ear to a desperate community. They are indeed a light in the darkness for the Gospel of Jesus. Thank you for your continued prayers and generous support that help make this possible!
